Purchasing Solutions was established in 1996 to provide a range of services to clients anxious to reduce their cost base in a competitive world. In the intervening years the company has grown to be Ireland’s leading consultancy specialising in Purchasing Procurement and delivering significant bottom line savings to our client base.

Without exception every organisation that has retained our services has benefited significantly. These benefits have been derived in one or more ways, through increased efficiency in their purchasing processes, adoption of a more strategic approach to Procurement or the achievement of overall bottom line savings of up to 12%.

 Management
Mr Gavan McGirr (MIIPMM) – Managing Director
Gavan spent 18 years with AIB Group, his last 7 as Group Purchasing Manager. In 1995, Dunne’s Stores Group appointed him Group Purchasing Manager. He joined Purchasing Solutions in 1996.

Mr Steven Doyle (MIIPMM) – Operations Director
Steven, a qualified Lithographer, has 19 years experience in the Print Industry covering the areas of production, estimating, sales, purchasing and management. Steven spent 3 years with the AIB Group managing their implant printing operation and advising on areas of print spend.

Mr. Dermot Power – Chairman
Dermot joined Purchasing Solutions as Chairman in May 2003 having retired from his position as Assistant General Manager, Operations, First Active plc. Dermot spent most of his working life with First Active plc. having many senior management positions prior to his retirement.

 Management
We are always looking for Management Consultants with very strong qualifications and experience within the Supply Chain to join our rapidly expanding team. Your experience should be sufficient to enable you to successfully manage one of a number of challenging projects in the field of Purchasing, including the skills needed to interface at Board and senior management level within our client base. You must have a strategic view of where Procurement should sit within an organisation and a deep understanding of the importance of its role within a business. In short the successful candidates will have:

  • Strong and well-proven Management skills
  • The ability to manage multi-faceted Procurement Projects within both the Public and Private Sectors.
  • A very good working knowledge of the EU Procurement Directives and Government Guidelines
  • Excellent team leadership and problem solving skills
  • An excellent working knowledge of the varying benefits of Business to Business and E-Commerce applications as well as ERP and Accountancy systems
  • The ability to produce high quality written reports.
  • IIPMM, CIPS or third level business qualification would be very desirable.
